About us

Our school was founded on 26 August 1977. Since then it has been continuously developing and expanding its activities, and today it is a complex institution with several areas of work.

We provide education, rehabilitation and comprehensive support to children and students with developmental and physical disabilities, from preschool to secondary school age.

We see our school as a modern, well-equipped institution in which the potential of every child can develop in a pleasant and stimulating atmosphere. With this goal in mind, we constantly improve our support services and our cooperation with other institutions, so that children can be more fully included in the community.

What we offer

We provide full support to our students through a carefully designed system with six areas of work.

Preschool Preparatory Program

Focused on the knowledge and skills children need for further education. Our program, “Years of Ascent”, creates an environment that encourages freedom, curiosity, play and interaction, and is tailored to the needs and abilities of each child.

Primary school

Teaching is adapted to each student’s abilities through Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs). Extracurricular activities and school clubs develop students’ aptitudes, creativity, self-expression, socialization and practical use of knowledge.

Secondary school

Education built around practical knowledge and skills, preparing students for the future and for the labor market. See the study programs below.

Extended Day Program

Organized, structured care for younger school-age children before or after classes. It provides a safe and stimulating environment for the child’s development and supports parents during working hours.

Individualized instruction

Depending on their needs and assessments, all students take part in individualized instruction. It aims to reduce risk factors that lead to disabilities, to identify and address developmental disorders, and to help students build compensatory abilities for better socialization and learning. It includes speech therapy, psychomotor re-education exercises and sensory integration therapy.

Additional Support Services

Support for children and students with developmental and physical disabilities who are included in mainstream education (currently in the territory of the Municipality of Vršac). It is provided by special educators and focuses on strengthening development and learning.

We offer four study programs across three fields of study.

Admission

Enrollment is based on the opinion of the Interdepartmental Commission and parental consent. Students may enroll at the beginning of their schooling or after attempting to attend other schools.

Cooperation

Inclusion of children in the wider community depends on cooperation. We work continuously to strengthen intersectoral partnerships with other institutions, and we welcome contact from organizations, donors and educators who share our goals.
